Global Brown is offering a three-part series that provides practical guidance, expert insights, and community support to help you feel informed, empowered, and prepared—no matter where you are on your global journey. From understanding your rights to prioritizing well-being and planning for travel, these sessions offer tools and connections to resources at Brown and beyond.

Understanding Your Rights
Thursday, February 27th, 4:00PM 

  • In this session, speakers will discuss recent immigration-related federal and executive actions and their impact on non-citizen and non-immigrant individuals, and provide information on available resources. The session will also review your constitutional rights, how to exercise them, and what to do when your rights are violated in clear, practical terms. This session is open to students, faculty and staff. Speakers will include:
    • Elizabeth Goss, CEO of The Law Office of Goss and Associates, LLC
    • Cecily Ziegler, Citizenship and Immigration Staff Attorney, Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island 
    • Rodney Chatman, Vice President for Public Safety and Emergency Management.

Guidance for Traveling Abroad and within the U.S.
March 13th, 12:00PM - 1:00PM

  • Traveling—whether for the upcoming break or returning home, comes with important considerations, especially as regulations and policies evolve, both in the U.S. and internationally. Representatives from the new Brown Travel Office will share expert advice on and resources for travel planning, and provide up-to-date guidance on recent travel changes in the U.S. and beyond. This session is open to students, faculty and staff. 

Self Care and Community Connections
Tuesday, April 1st, 5:30PM - 7:00PM

  • This interactive session with BWell will explore strategies for self- and community care, managing stress, staying connected with loved ones as you  build and maintain meaningful relationships. Meet a panel of staff from Brown Student Health & Wellness and Brown Graduate students who will discuss wellbeing from a variety of perspectives. There will be an opportunity to engage in personal reflection and guided exercises that can help you explore ways to stay grounded, supported, and connected—no matter where you are. This session is open to students only.
